AWR SHOWROOMS & SERVICE CENTERAL RUKKA - SHARJAH, UAE
Within the AWR Showrooms and Service Center’s arresting architectural arrangement is a surprisingly straightforward, high-quality automotive development. The elegant forms of the AWR Showrooms and Service Center come from a desire to transform the formality and solidity of the rectangular showroom by introducing ephemeral effects of translucency and opaqueness. This high-quality but somewhat conservative approach is invigorated by striking enclosures that are a direct response for a development with an outstanding elegance that is unique from the average automotive developments in the city. The AWR Showroom and Service Center is a spectacular creation, and is set to become the developer’s signature automotive showroom and service center, charged with setting a standard for all the following automotive projects within the city. Arif & Bintoak were the lead consultant and architect of the project, and were responsible for all project phases from the concept design stage to the end of the construction supervision stage.

Inspired by the free flowing forms found in Audi’s popular style of design, the Audi Showroom and Service Center will provides a unique shopping and service experience. The guidelines of the project were set to begin with the car, and end with all the memorable platforms that are used in the automotive trade. The interior spaces of the Audi showroom and service centers are also designed to reflect Audi’s spectacular work ethic. Spacious areas and welcoming common spaces are designed to invite clients into a relaxing environment of high quality service. Meanwhile, the back of house facilities are designed to provide the employees of Audi of the best working environment and atmosphere. The site’s bare condition inspired the minimalistic treatment of the building’s facade, in order to help the building blend into the subtle surroundings and not have a huge impact on the urban context of the area.

The project is a mixed-use one, with showrooms and a large service center dedicated to several car brands at the ground floor and the rest of the building houses the AWR headquarters and offices. Numerous common facilities that revolve around leisure were also incorporated into the design such as cafes, canteens and common rooms in order to facilitate the needs of the building’s users and visitors. The richness of this project is very interesting; with the potential of giving a vibrant place of work for the employees, as well as a welcoming and relaxing showrooms and service center for the clients. The main objective behind the design process of the AWR Headquarters was to express in an innovative way the elegance and innovation that comes along with the automotive design industry.

The creative design of the AWR Headquarters was inspired by the exceptional views, with a high attention to detailing that was inspired by automotive design. The lobby, amenity spaces and social spaces were designed to provide a sense of warmth as well as a comfortable space for people to get together and socialize. Al Tayer Motors’ Showroom and Service center houses
various car brands and facilitate their needs in terms
of retail and servicing. The building is located on one
of the UAE’s most important highways; Sheikh Zayed
Road and is viewed by thousands of travellers that use
the highway on a daily basis.
Unlike other showrooms and service centers, Al Tayer
Motors’ showroom and service center takes advantage
of these factors by having a unique and interesting
design that reflects the contemporary elements of
automotive design and is reminiscent of the region’s
heritage and architectural style.
Thus, the design of the Al Tayer Motors’ showroom
and service center adopts a mass-based approach
that utilizes materiality and color to bring out its unique
design quality. This geometric theme, strongly related
to the region, gives the showroom and service center a dynamic touch and a three dimensional facade that is eye catching and intriguing.

The three-storey building of the Mazda Showroom and Service Center,
is situated on one of the city’s key highways, perched between other
automotive buildings and showrooms. The Mazda Showroom and
service center overlooks the busy street of Sheikh Zayed Road, which
sees an influx of crowds and vehicular traffic from the city as well as the
neighboring Emirates.
Originally built over 10 years ago, Arif and Bintoak believed that the
contemporary overhaul of the structure will create a “new modern building
that reflects the prestige and importance of the site”. The buildings
classic and elegant design allows it to blend into the urban context that
surrounds the building, meanwhile maintaining its position as one of
the first few buildings that set the standards of elegance of automotive
showrooms and service centers on the internationally known highway of
Sheikh Zayed Road.

The SAAB - Alpha Romeo showroom and service center
features an imposing piece of architecture that hints to
the diversity of activities within, giving social and visual
meaning to the functions that it supports and bringing
a welcome addition to the city’s rich urban context of
architectural masterpieces.
Prepped with the most advanced equipment and lined
with spectacular interior spaces, the SAAB - Alpha Romeo
showroom and service center is a true state-of-the-art
facility that reflect’s the city’s architectural intelligence and
the car brands’ elite quality of automotive design.
The striking showroom and service center combines
stainless steel and glass facades in order to create an
elegant structure that utilizes natural sunlight in order
to animate its interior spaces and bring them to life. The
development’s layout focuses on maximizing efficiency
and allows each car to be celebrated as an art piece that
sits comfortably within a museum.

VOLKSWAGEN SHOWROOM
UM RAMOOL - DUBAI, UAE
The strength of the design concept of the Volkswagen
Showroom and Service Center emanates from the tectonic
louvers and roof structures that dominate the long facades
of the simple rectangular form.
These tectonic elements enhance the showroom’s
distinctly slender and elegant proportions, and form distinct
outline that establishes a relationship between the building
and the infinite sky. Visually elegant, these fin-like elements
are also utilized to provide shading for the building, in order
to help reduce the building’s heat gain and minimize its
energy consumption and ecological footprint.
The showroom is designed to have an amazing light
quality in order to bring the interior spaces to life and allow
the natural sun light to reflect off of the sleekly designed
cars that are on display. On the other hand, the service
center is designed to house, and be equipped with, the
newest technologies of automotive services in order to
ensure maintaining VW’s reputation for quality and service.
